Women's Rights Reform Movement

The movement toward more freedom for women "reflected both optimistic and pessimistic views of human nature and society." The women were always optimistic and they knew their efforts were not in vain. The men who despised what the women were trying to do hoped the worst would come to them. The women had to work hard and fight for what was their's. The women wanted to step away from the housewife role but men and others alike tried to keep this from happening. It took the women 72 years to get the right to vote. The women just like the blacks were hopeless for a while but they kept trying. This reform opened many doors and enabled the women to challenge the men and show them: women were just as good as men. Men and women were doubtful that women's rights would expand. Though, the rights did expand, it took forever but people like Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth made it possible. The statement is valid because we seen the hard and the soft, true sides of many indiviuals of differnet colors and races.

Women and their needs for rights!
Ha, just kidding. But seventy two years just to have the ability to vote? That's just ridiculous! And more ridiculous is what blacks had to go through, obviously. Especially black women, that's a double slap there.

I agree. Women did want to have the same freedom as men, so they tried to break themselves away from the "housewife" image.
